The office of the Presidency was established with the dawn of democracy in 1994 and formalised under the 1996 Constitution to serve at the apex of South Africa's system of government. Operating as the executive manager of the state, The office of The Presidency is situated at The Union Buildings in Pretoria and Tuynhuys in Cape Town, its primary role is to lead and organise governance. Through creative, cross-sectoral policy development, The Presidency facilitates an integrated and co-ordinated approach to leadership, ensuring that sectoral priorities are seamlessly aligned with the nation's overarching strategic framework.
